Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for tuning in to today’s post. I’ve prepared a 20 minute guided meditation and stretch that focuses on the 6 manipulations of the spine. As you go through this breath guided stretch, I want folks to focus on feelings of gratitude for our bodies and all that they do for us. With that gratitude i want to invite us to slow all the way down and treat our bodies with the gentleness that they deserve. If this should like something you’re interested in, find a peaceful place to post up, either seated or standing, and press play. I’ve got you from there if you’ll just follow my lead ❤️
If you’re not use to doing stretches or engaging in a yoga practice, feel free to peak below for video and images depicting the 6 manipulations of the spine. These are 6 postures that when done together can help to relieve stiffness in the back and shoulders, helps increase overall mobility, and it can also help aid in digestion and waste elimination as it supports increased circulation.
Lastly, I’m not sure if i’ve mentioned this formally but I’m currently part of an antiracist raja yoga teacher training. This stretch practice is borrowed from one of my facilitators within that program. Once she shared it with us, i knew this was something I wanted to incorporate into my daily care practice. Honestly, I’m still working being consistent, but everytime I do return to this stretch, i’m never disappointed. It’s a great stretch sequence for when you only have a few minutes or at times when you’re feeling peak discomfort due to muscle tightness. This stretch practice is also great for people who do a lot of sitting or standing for work as well as folks who are just starting a movement or embodiment practice and want somewhere accessible to start.
Either way, I hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave and feedback for me as a student teacher in the comments!
Just in case anyone needs a little more guidance, I recorded a video of me doing the sequence as well. ❤️
I hope you got something from this post and I hope you have a peaceful rest of your day ❤️
